Planning a trip to Zanzibar can seem tricky, given the COVID travel landscape. We've put together this space to help you plan your trip.

Entering Zanzibar

For most people, you'll need a visa to travel to Zanzibar. Tourist visas can be purchased on arrival, or if you wish to skip the lines at the airport, you can purchase your visa online. We recommend that you purchase them at least 24 hours prior to your flight.

COVID Restrictions

Currently, Tanzania has no vaccine mandates, no quarantine requirements or any COVID restrictions. All you'll need is a PCR test to be taken 72 hours prior to your trip.

Flying to Zanzibar

Good news! The UAE lifted all travel restrictions to Zanzibar and Tanzania! This allows for even more flexible routes to ZNZ.

✈️ FLYDUBAI / EMIRATES: All flights have resumed starting from January 29th, onwards, direct from DXB to ZNZ, or DXB to DAR. This is the cheapest and most convenient route.

✈️ QATAR AIRWAYS: This is another convenient option, considering that Qatar Airways have multiple daily direct flights, operating from Doha DOH. For friends in Bahrain, you can reach Doha via Dammam. For all other countries in the GCC, you can fly to Doha direct.

✈️ OMAN AIR: There are several flights per week operating out of Muscat MCT (every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). Please check Oman Air’s website to see the exact dates, to ensure it aligns with your dates.

✈️ TURKISH AIRLINES: There are several flights per week operating out of Istanbul IST (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Please check Turkish Airlines’ website to see the exact dates, to ensure it aligns with your dates.

✈️ For our European friends, flights are operating without changes - you have direct flights with KLM, Air France and Lufthansa.
